UL RSC Burglary Protection You Can Trust
The BF2116 carries a UL Residential Security Container (RSC) rating, which means it has been independently tested by Underwriters Laboratories against pry attacks. This rating also makes the safe California DOJ compliant for firearm storage. The construction backs up the rating with serious materials:
- 1/2" thick solid steel door that resists prying and drilling
- Three 1" solid steel locking bolts that anchor the door into the body
- Full length steel dead bar on the hinge side, so the door stays put even if the hinges are attacked
- 1/4" Carburized hard plate protecting the lock from drill attacks
- Spring loaded auxiliary re-locker that automatically engages if someone attempts to punch or knock off the lock
1 Hour Fire Protection
The BF2116 is built with AMSEC's proprietary DryLight fire insulation, which provides a 1 hour fire rating at 1200°F. The door is sealed with a Palusol heat-activated door seal that expands up to 7 times its original size when exposed to heat, sealing out smoke, water, and hot gases. This combination protects documents, cash, and other heat-sensitive valuables during a house fire.
ESL10 Electronic Lock
This safe comes equipped with the AMSEC ESL10 electronic lock, a UL listed Type 1 electronic lock that has been a standard feature on AMSEC safes for years. Cosmetic Condition
This unit has a small bubble on the top right side and some scratches and paint marks on the back and back sides. Because the back of the safe typically faces a wall once installed, these blemishes will not be visible in most installations. All security and fire features perform exactly as they would on a brand new unit.
