This AM2020 home safe by American Security had a defect on the inner door frame that was fixed. There are some very minor paint chips. These cosmetic blemishes do not affect the fire or burglary rating on the safe. This safe comes with an ESL10 electronic lock, 45-minute ETL fire rating at 1200°F, and CA DOJ Approved Burglary rating. The safe is sold as-is. This AMSEC Home Security Safe carries a 45-minute fire rating, meaning it can face outside temperatures up to 1200 degrees for 45 minutes while keeping the inside below 350 degrees. For a home safe at this price point, that level of performance is a strong benefit. The outside finish is AMSEC’s classic deep-blue texture, and the door displays a raised American Security logo in black nickel trim. A plush velour back cover is also included, adding a more refined look and feel.
When it comes to protection, the AMSEC AM2020E5 Fire and Burglary Protection Safe is built with a 12-gauge solid steel body and a recessed 1-1/8-inch door. The door construction includes a 1/4-inch steel plate, with the remaining thickness made up of fire-insulating material. Security features include four active 1-1/4-inch bolts in a three-way locking design, plus an ESL10 electronic lock with a standard illuminated keypad. Four pre-drilled anchor holes add another layer of resistance when the safe is properly secured.
To round out the design, the safe uses external hinges for full interior access and an “L” style handle on the door. Together with the blue textured finish, these details fit naturally in a den or trophy room while keeping a clean, confident appearance.
