  • Ever wanted a handgun safe that you could easily carry to the range?

Made with thick 10 gauge solid steel and a massive 3/16" solid steel wrap around door, the AMSEC PS1210HD security is equivalent a full size rifle safe.

The American Security Heavy Duty PS1210HD Pistol Safe has a thick chrome locking bolt, two solid steel dead bars and a welded, continuous hinge. This heavy duty pistol safe offers excellent pry resistance.

On the top of the AMSEC PS1210 HD Pistol Safe, you'll notice the easy to use Simplex Lock. No batteries, no electronics, no failing biometric reader, just a reliable open every single time. With a potential of 1,081 unique combinations, it would take a burglar hours to try every combination and compared to an unreliable electronic lock, you actually get more combinations than the standard 4 push button.

For those who know of the "punch" method where a thief will take a chisel or hammer and literally "punch" in the lock common among similar style handgun safes, AMSEC added another security feature by encasing the lock in steel and creating a punch resistant housing. Even if the burglar smashes the lock, your valuables are still safe inside.

After the correct combo is entered and you begin to open the heavy duty door, you'll notice a helping hand in the gas piston assist that helps lift the lid and hold it in place. Once open, the protective, high density, pluck foam interior will allow you to fully customize to the exact fit and finish of your firearm and magazine.

With the four pre-drilled bolt down holes you can mount this safe to any car, nightstand, drawer or flat surface for that matter. The AMSEC PS1210HD Pistol Safe adds a chrome carry handle that will allow easy and secure transportation of your firearm.

This pistol safe is approved in California to hold firearms. This safe comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty.

PS1210HD is solidly amazing!

This safe is great. It is heavy weight and very solid. It can be bolted down. The simplex mechanical lock works great. It can easily accommodate a pistol and a couple of magazines. It is very well padded internally so nothing shifts.

Only thing to look out for is to make sure you orient contents to the left of internal cavity to avoid the lift arm that is on the right hand side.

Great safe. My Second one

I bought one in 2016 and never had a problem with it. Opens every time without any issues. I just bought a second one and it is also great. They are strong and secure. Very heavy duty. Would highly recommend.

Looks great

Looks good and love the fact that it is more ‘safe like’ than others. My only concern is that there is A LOT of play in the locking bolt when the lid is open, and the bolt is extended in the locked position. This may be normal. I don’t know. But otherwise, I love this safe.

Money Wll Spent

About 3 years ago my not yet 21 grandson asked if he could keep his handgun, a Glock M19, at home with him.
The home scenario consists of his mom (her occasional boyfriend), his 5 year old sister, and an adult sister and her boyfriend.
He does have a long gun safe I got him but it's not the quickest thing to get into in an emergency situation so I looked into various handgun safes and decided on the American Security PS1210HD.
The two primary deciding factors were (A) It has a Simplex push button lock mechanism rather than a battery operated lock mechanism. Experience has taught me that if anything battery operated, flashlights, radios, locks, is going to fail it will happen at exactly the moment you need it to work the most.
(B) Unlike the rest of the safes I checked out the AS lock mechanism has an interior steel box around it so while the mechanism can still be destroyed with a hammer and punch it can't be knocked out of place so the lock bar stays in place even if the mechanism is smashed.
Dean Safe just happened to have a discounted returned safe in stock. A guy bought it with the intention of using to carry a handgun in but since this thing weighs close to 25lbs he decided it wasn't a practical option. Lucky me!
It does have mounting holes in the back so it can be fastened to a floor or wall but he wanted to keep it on his night stand so I bought a 15'X15mm stainless steel double loop cable that he has looped around his steel bed frame and fastened to the safe's handle with a keyed padlock.
The handle swivel pins are peened into place so it's pretty secure but I've been considering mounting a hardened steel ring bolt to it as a fastening point.
At first it took the grandson about 30 seconds while looking at the buttons to enter his combination but now he can get into it in the dark in a few seconds.
All in all I consider it money well spent.

Security for SUV

I wanted an in-SUV box that I felt would discourage at least most thieves if I had to leave my handgun in the vehicle to enter a non-permissive environment. Yes, hidden, but still more security than what a light box and small cable offered. The AMSEC HD Safe is all that, especially after I combined it with a length of hardened chain anchored to the SUV and shackled to the box. Very happy with the construction, and the no-battery, no-key-required lock. And Dean’s service and delivery were great.
