American Security Products, AMSEC, has come up with a brilliant solution to fill this need. The HAS410 Hide-A-Safe handgun safe, with mounting holes on the top and the bottom of the safe gives you the ability to mount this safe in new ways you never thought possible.
On the door of the AMSEC HAS410 Hide a Safe, you'll notice a convenient pull out handle. Once the correct combination is entered into the Simplex push button mechanical lock the door easily slides open and is rated to hold up to 75 lbs (55 lbs when fully extended).
The interior of the AMSEC Hide a Safe is fabric-lined with protective high density pluck foam-lined interior that will allow you to customize it to the exact size of your pistol.
When it comes to security, the AMSEC HAS410 won't even take a punch because of the steel housing encasing the lock. This housing makes the American Security HAS410 impervious to punch attacks. The body is constructed of 10 gauge solid steel plate and the door is 7 gauge with a strong pry resistant locking bolt.
The AMSEC HAS410 is finished with a beautiful charcoal textured gray paint. This handgun safe has been tested and approved by California DOJ as an approved firearm locking device.
I couldn’t get it to work and somehow it locked and now it won’t unlock. Called company I bought it from and Dean. And no one would do anything about it. Said it was user error even tho I never had used it once.
Really happy with my purchase from Dean Safe. Product had a small manufactures defect on arrival. Called them up and they replaced it free of charge, no questions asked. My replacement was overnighted the very next day. I'm a customer for life!

Great safe but it was difficult figuring out how to remove the drawer which is needed to mount the safe. On each side of drawer there are black plastic lever arms that need to be pushed and clicked up on one side and push clicked down on other side of drawer which then lets you remove it. Once removed you need to purchase 4x 1/4” bolts of length of your need, 4x spacers and 4x hex locking nuts to mount and then reinsert drawer. For a one inch thick shelf to mount I used 1.5” by 1/4” bolts. Once mounted it seems very secure and fast and no batteries needed.
Does the job as a quick access safe. Not huge but enough room for a midsized in kidex holster and spare mags along with an extra flashlight.
Mounting is required even if setting it on a flat surface - the drawer is quite heavy and it tips forward when it's open. Holes are sized for 1/4" bolts.
Much nicer however to have the drawer pull out and have full access to the storage cavity than partial access with a door or open top version. Would buy again without issue.
