The door has a handle-activated locking mechanism consisting of three one-inch diameter locking bolts. Each long-throw locking bolt is formed from drive-resistant chromed steel. The door also has one piece of heavy duty dead-bar behind the hinges to prevent removal of the door even if hinges are removed during a forced entry attempt.
